Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a highly motivated and technically proficient Senior Associate Product Manager (Sr. APM) specializing in APIs to join our dynamic team. As a Sr. APM, you will be responsible for providing technical direction in driving the strategy, development, and enhancement, of various Applied products such as Indio, Data Migration tools, Data Lake, Epic Forms, and more. The connected business of insurance enables digital agencies and insurers to create higher-value business transactions and deliver superior customer experiences throughout the entire insurance lifecycle.   What You’ll Do - API Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive API strategy aligned with the company’s overall product roadmap and business objectives. Own the entire lifecycle of API products, from ideation to launch to ongoing maintenance and optimization. - API Design and Documentation: Collaborate with engineering teams to design intuitive, scalable, well-documented APIs that meet industry standards and best practices. - API Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring and analytics solutions to track API usage, performance, and reliability, and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions. - Requirements Gathering: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their API needs and gather requirements for new API features and enhancements. - Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, design, and marketing teams to prioritize API-related initiatives and ensure alignment with broader company goals. - Maintain, refine, and prioritize backlog. Define requirements, User stories, and acceptance criteria, and follow agile principles to develop and deliver.   What You’ll Need to Succeed We’re looking for someone who: - Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office   Your experience should include some or all of the following: - Proven experience (3 to 5 years) in Product management or related roles, with a focus on APIs and developer platforms. - Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, API design principles, and Web Services technologies. - Strong technical aptitude and the ability to engage with software engineers and technical stakeholders. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Experience with API management platforms, versioning strategies, and API security best practices. - Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and measure the success of API initiatives. - Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of Information Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines - We proudly support and encourage people with military experience, as well as military spouses, to apply  Additionally, you may have: - Experience with JIRA/Confluence or similar project management tools - Strong analytical and quantitative skills - Insurance industry exposure What You’ll Gain - Benefits from Day One - Health insurance plans, dental, and vision - Wellness incentives - 401(k) and/or RRSP retirement savings plans with employer match - Work-Life Balance - Competitive paid vacation time and a free day for your birthday - Personal/sick time - Paid holidays - Flex Time - Paid parental leave (U.S. candidates) - Volunteer time off - Empowering Career Growth and Success – We invest in talent, care about our people and are empowered by the results of our work.
